Santa down the Chimney?

My kids have recently started asking me about Santa. Now, these conversations can get a little tricky because I have to remember everything I’ve ever told them about Santa. However, their most recent concern is how Santa is going to fit down our chimney. I was recently talking to my husband about chimney service in Santa Monica CA, and how our chimney is likely due to get looked at. Now that’s all our kids can talk about! They think that something’s wrong with our chimney, and that Santa will have to find another way in to our home here in Santa Monica, CA. I’m trying to convince them that we just want to clean the chimney for Santa, so that it’s easier for him to squeeze down come Christmas. I’ll let you know if it works!

A Hectic Move to Such A Calm Place

My sister just booked a moving company in Cape Cod MA because she had to relocate to the Cape for work. She thought she could do everything herself and packed up her entire house. Unfortunately, when she was trying to lift one of the heavier boxes, her back went out. There wasn’t any way she would have been able to move on her own. My husband and I had tried to help but even we couldn’t lift some of the boxes she packed! Thankfully she found a company in time for her move and iced her back while her Cape House was being set up, just the way she likes it.

Mary Poppins Chimney Sweep?

When we first opened up my fireplace this year, soot and ash came tumbling out. My mother kept saying, look for a chimney sweep in Long Island NY and I’d laugh because I didn’t think they existed. I always thought that chimney sweeps were reserved for Mary Poppins and I would have to clean my chimney myself. Finally, I asked my father ‘How do you clean one of these things?!’ He answered, ‘Are you kidding? Do you think I could clean it myself? We found a chimney sweep!’ Right then and there I found a reputable company that would be able to come out as soon as possible to clean my chimney. I was so thankful I didn’t have to do it myself ever again!

Spring Cleaning

I don't know where the term spring cleaning came from but I am thankful that I was able to clean my chimney in the spring of this year. Every year I search for someone who can help with my chimney cleaning in Long Island NY and end up waiting until the very last minute to clean out the chimney. By that point we were using the fireplace and soot and ash really smelled up the room. This year, I found a chimney cleaning professional that I loved who came in the spring to make sure that I didn’t have to suffer my first month of fireplace usage!

Broken Down

My husband and I were looking to expand our home but when we went to break down a wall, we discovered there was an unused chimney! Thankfully, we could find someone for chimney repair in Long Island and had them come out to see if this was something they could salvage. We were lucky enough to have this original chimney repaired in our home and we even included it in our new design as a focal point!

New Home, Older Fireplace

When I bought my home with a fireplace, I thought that searching for a chimney sweep in Long Island may be a little outdated. I was wrong! Chimney Sweeps may not refer to themselves as such any more, but Chimney Cleaners are the same thing. They make sure to clean your chimney of ash and soot. They keep your home safer by getting rid of the residue that is building up inside the chimney restricting the airflow. This residue can also catch fire and start a large house-fire! I was so thankful that I found someone to help clean my chimney!!

Older Home

I bought my home on Long Island a number of years ago. One of the selling points was coming with a fireplace. Unfortunately no one told me that I would have to find someone that would be able to perform some chimney cleaning  in Long Island. I never even thought about the aspect of cleaning the chimney when we invested money into this house. Thankfully I found someone who could help me out in that regard and we weren’t inhaling ash or smoke whenever we put up a fire.

Time For Some Spring (Chimney) Cleaning

It may not feel like it yet, but we’re finally in spring. I don’t know about you guys, but every spring I compile a long list of my spring cleaning duties. Things that I need to get done in order to get into the seasonal spirit. Like dusting the books in our library, polishing the silverware, staining our deck and chimney cleaning Long Island. For me, if I didn’t plan to get them done in spring, they’d rarely get done. What are some of the spring cleaning chores you do on a yearly basis?

Winter Chimney Cleaning

This winter has been brutal! Recently, sitting by the fireplace with a hot cup of tea has been everyone’s favorite pastime. If you’re using your chimney a lot this season it’s probably a good idea that you have it cleaned. A chimney fire is the last thing you want to happen this season. Don’t have a chimney cleaner listed in your address book? No problem, Google chimney cleaning NYC and you will find a great company to service your chimney.

Raccoon in the Chimney

We recently had a family gathering at our house in Long Island where my Great Uncle Ed sat me down and talked to me about the importance of chimney cleaning. Somehow it came up in casual conversation that I hadn’t had mine checked in years, though I use it every winter. Great Uncle Ed then told me a story about a time he hadn’t had his chimney cleaned, and they found a raccoon in it one year. Now, I’m attributing many factors to them finding a raccoon, but he insisted that the ‘coon was drawn towards all the filth in the chimney. Whether or not the story actually happened, I put in a call to have my Long Island chimney cleaned as soon as I got home.
