First Chimney
I have always wanted a home with a chimney in
it. However, no one told me about the upkeep of a chimney when I first
purchased this home. Halfway through the first fire we lit; I was on my
computer looking up chimney
services in Pasadena CA. Not only did they help me by sweeping the
chimney, they were able to give me tips on upkeep! My home no longer fills with
small clouds of black smoke or overwhelming smog. Now everything is just as I
had imagined it, cozy and clean with my whole family around the fire.

Chilly Nights in Pasadena
Although the weather here in Pasadena isn't chilly enough
for me to put my fireplace on during the day, at night there’s nothing better
than to sit around my fireplace with my fireplace going. Some say it’s silly to
have a chimney in your California home, but not only does it keep me warm on
those chilly nights it also is a great feature just for the outside look of
your home. My chimney tends to go untouched for months and months because out
here in Pasadena, CA the weather is usually warm all year around. Growing up on
the east coast with a fireplace in my childhood home, I knew wherever I lived I
needed a fireplace. After I moved here, finding a home with a chimney was hard!
I decided to just install one in my dream home. Luckily, the company that did
my installation, also did chimney
cleaning in Pasadena, CA and they’ve done maintenance on my chimney
ever since. I’ve never had a problem with my fireplace and it’s always good to
see people that have the same love for fireplaces as I do!

Protect Your Garage Door from the Harsh Winter
With the harsh winter here - owners need to take the appropriate steps to help their door make it through winter without damage or malfunction. Call your local Cape May NJ garage door contractor. Here is a tip for you...
Salt
Many homeowners use salt and ice melt compounds to keep their driveways and walkways free of ice. What they don’t realize is that this can affect many areas of their home including their garage door. When possible, it is best to keep these products away from garage doors, especially if they are metal or have metal parts close to the ground. When the weather turns for the better and the temperature is above freezing, homeowners should be sure to wash their garage doors to remove any harmful chemicals.
If you think your door has damage due to the snow or ice, it is critical to schedule professional garage door service before it breaks completely.

Reno-Work
I purchased a home on Long Island NY included a
chimney in the original brick finish they had built in the 1950s. It was really
important to me to get this chimney working correctly. I was searching for
weeks before we moved in for chimney
repair on Long Island NY and ended up finding a few professionals that
didn’t want to completely rip out the brick and start from scratch. The chimney
design was part of the reason I fell in love with my house and I really didn’t
want to change it from the original style. We were able to update the inner
workings of the chimney and fix it so it was as good as new without sacrificing
the overall look and feel.

The Seasonal Clean
One of the most
dreaded chores to do as winter rolls around is getting the fireplace ready.
Realizing that I had not touched it in over a year, I knew that this wasn’t something
I could take care of myself. Not sure of what needed to be done specifically to
my chimney, I decided to search for chimney cleaning in Long Island, NY.
I found a company that was close to my home and also had a great special going
on for first time customers. I called and let them know my situation. I told
them every detail about my chimney and they let me know that my chimney sounds
like it needs to be inspected as well. They said they’d be able to do this
before the chimney sweep. After chatting for a few minutes and taking a look at
their website, I realized that they rebuild chimneys as well. This is something
that I had been looking into for quite some time and couldn’t think of a better
time than now. They had different types of chimneys to choose from and were
able to provide me with an example of all of them. Within one phone call I was
able to schedule the team to come out and look at my chimney to start the
rebuild process. Now I have my new chimney and I feel more than ready for the
holidays. My family and friends love to come to my house to sit around the
fireplace on those chilly nights!

Santa down the Chimney?
My kids have recently started asking
me about Santa. Now, these conversations can get a little tricky because I have
to remember everything I’ve ever told them about Santa. However, their most
recent concern is how Santa is going to fit down our chimney. I was recently
talking to my husband about chimney service in Santa Monica CA, and how our chimney is likely due
to get looked at. Now that’s all our kids can talk about! They think that something’s
wrong with our chimney, and that Santa will have to find another way in to our
home here in Santa Monica, CA. I’m trying to convince them that we just want to
clean the chimney for Santa, so that it’s easier for him to squeeze down come
Christmas. I’ll let you know if it works!

A Hectic Move to Such A Calm Place
My
sister just booked a moving company
in Cape Cod MA because she had to relocate to the Cape for work. She
thought she could do everything herself and packed up her entire house.
Unfortunately, when she was trying to lift one of the heavier boxes, her back
went out. There wasn’t any way she would have been able to move on her own. My
husband and I had tried to help but even we couldn’t lift some of the boxes she
packed! Thankfully she found a company in time for her move and iced her back
while her Cape House was being set up, just the way she likes it.
