Creosote is an oil that's released when wood and other solid objects burn.
The oil will stick to the inside of your chimney and then harden as it cools
down. It will eventually start to build up in there, and can cause some
undesirable health concerns if not cleaned, such as skin and eye irritation,
and respiratory issues.
In order to avoid exposure to creosote, make sure to have your chimney maintained regularly by a
Winthrop ME chimney service.
